Ah, fall, time to freshen your home for the season….wait, it’s also tailgating season. Why not take some of that style and comfort along to the game? We found some great tailgating items that we thought could make any tailgating event as comfortable as sitting in your den.

Victoria’s Secret Pink Collection (www.victoriassecret.com) is known for great lingerie and apparel, but their new Collegiate Collection makes a great, and stylish, tailgating item. We loved the stadium blanket, big enough to lay across the bed of a truck, or fold it up and make a nice cushion for those rather hard stadium seats. For the little ones at your event, I really liked the Woobee (www.rainorshinekids.com). It has a nylon backing and minky-soft front fabric, and just the right size for the wee sports fan.

For grilling we found the Grilliput (www.grilliput.com) to be the most unique and easy to carry grill ever. This grill is so small that before it is assembled it is the size of a flute! No kidding! Now, we will admit, you aren’t going to grill very much at one time, but it is very clever. Along with the Grilliput, we liked the firebowl where you place your coals in an easy to use, fold up bowl.

I also came across a blender that out-blends the one in my house – and it plugs into your car charger! The Waring Pro (www.waringproducts.com) has a heck of a motor in this and can take on any frozen concoction you can come up with.

Taking bottled water to the game? Think again, and get the Brita pitcher out of the fridge, fill your Nalgene 32oz bottle and take that. You can go to www.filterforgood.com and see just how much you are protecting the environment from those plastic bottles. Don’t be one of the 38 billion sitting in a landfill! That is not good Earth-style.

Tailgating events are great for junk food, but we found some tasty treats that offer a healthier alternative to those chips and soda. Steaks and hot dogs are synonymous with fall football events and we found both -- La Cense Beef (www.lacensebeef.com) offers a better beef because their cows are grass-fed versus grain-fed. This means you get a steak that is better for you, as well as the environment. And, they deliver directly to your door! A great way to save gas and money too! Then, to be sure you serve the right steak to the guy who likes his rare – the Grill Charms (www.grillcharms.com) are the fool-proof addition no home or tailgate can live without. For those hot dogs, why not try…a duck dog? D’Artagnan (www.dartagnan.com) has a line of hot dogs made with no antibiotics, no hormones, no additives or fillers. And, you can enjoy duck dogs…and buffalo dogs too!

Chips are chips, but from now on, tailgating or entertaining for any sports event, I’m serving Buffalo Nickel Wingers (www.buffalonickelwingers.com). Why? I love wings and chips. You attach it to the inside of a Rubbermaid bin and their handi-store pockets makes it easy to find things that otherwise might be lost at the bottom of your tailgating tote.
